The Man Makes History

The Man Makes History
1973 there was a well known man named Pikachu Moltres, he was about to make history for the first time ever. He was given Instructions of how to be safe and he was given a map to the jungle of doom. People before him has been but hasn’t been out cause to the doom jungle, the only way out was for him to follow the map.

He entered and people were cheering and then all of a sudden boom!!! There goes a storm he quickly looks at the map sayin, 1st instruction is to find the boat. He finds it on the path so he gets on it. All of a sudden he hears whooshes a flood is coming. He falls out and grabs onto a tree with one hand, Mr Moltres was about to slip so he had no choice but to let go and hold on tight with two hands.

Mr Moltres finds something to push his body up on the tree, he waits there until the flood finishes. It was getting dark and the flood had finished. Mr Moltres was lucky he took camping lessons back when he was thirteen, he jumped down and found some twigs and two stones. He smashed the two stones together to try and make the spark for the fire to start working, he makes it lite up.

He sleeps inside a bush for the night covered with a spare blanket in his backpack he packed. Mr Moltres cried himself to sleep telling himself why did he let go of the stupid map, he was more angry remembering the dora song im a map im a map im a map im a map.

The next day he woke up to the pouring of thunder he prayed to the lord if he could help him find his way back home. Then suddenly he followed this nice looking butterfly up the tree.

He sees something kinda big so he reaches out for it and it was a jetpack. Mr Moltres was lucky to find it thanks to the help of the lord, so he flew up and seen the island exit so he flies to it and people are waiting. Mr Moltres gets there and he makes history so the mayor Mr John Key gave him 30 dollars because John Key was greedy.

What Is Fair Testing

In class this week we have been learning about fair testing and what I have learnt is all on this presentation.

Science Investigation

Science Investigation
Fair Testing

Fill out the following table to help you explain the Fair Testing experiment

Aim - what are you trying to find out?
Which type of vinegar Produces the biggest reaction with baking soda.
Hypothesis - what do you think your results will be?
What I reckon is that that balsamic vinegar will be the biggest and the white vinegar will be the second biggest, and wine vinegar will be the least amount of reaction.
Independent Variable - what variable will you change?
White , Balsamic Vinegar and Red Wine
Dependent Variable - what variable will you measure?
Baking soda with every other Vinegar and Wine
Controlled Variable - what variables will you keep the same?
No variables will still be the same.

The students of Room 4 wanted to find out what colour of bird feeders birds preferred. FIll our the table below thinking of which variables you would make independent, dependent and controlled.
Fill out the following table to help you explain the Growing in the dark: Plants and light experiment

Aim - what are you trying to find out?
Do plants need light to grow
Hypothesis - what do you think your results will be?
No some don’t need light to grow
Independent Variable - what variable will you change?
Put the plants in a dark cupboard and add water
Dependent Variable - what variable will you measure?
I would measure the soil and measure how long it will take
Controlled Variable - what variables will you keep the same?
I would keep the soil the same

Chemical vs Physical

Today in class we had learned about Chemical and physical differences. What I have learnt is that chemical change is when its normal state changes to a different state it cannot change back. Physical change is is when its normal state changes to a different state it can be changed back to its normal state.

States of matter

Task
Work on this Doc together with a partner or in a 3.

Give three examples of each state of matter?
Solid
Liquid
Gas
Rocks
water
Fart
Ice
milk
petrol
Hunks
Chocolate
air

What’s the difference between the three states of matter?
Solids
Liquids
Gases
It’s not easy to change
Molecules slip from one another
You walk right through gas like air

Write 3 sentences explaining something new you learned from this reading.
I learned how molecules stick different between solids, liquids, and gases.
I also learned different types of temperatures and celsius in solids, liquids, and gases.
A diamond can be boiled around the temperature of 6,422 degrees fahrenheit, or 3,550 degrees celsius .

Hiwi The Kiwi

        HIWI THE KIWI
On a cold, winter morning we had some great visitors from hiwi the kiwi, we were very fortunate to have the minstrel and his beautiful wife to come and talk to us about fishing for our future.

There were loads of kids who had won posters and stickers, he even gave out magazines. We had boogied a lot and sang their wonderful songs, the best was the albatross song.

The minstrel told us to write a story about 2 things that we had learnt. If our one is the best we could win a real life fishing rod, so I thought to try and win it for my grandpa for father's day.

The things I have learnt from hiwi the kiwi is to never put salt fish in normal water, if you do then it will start to rot and go off. Second thing is to always pick a fish up with a wet towel and to make sure it's wet. Third thing I have learnt is to always bring a bucket of ice to keep the fish cool. So there is my things I have learnt, and a big shout out to HIWI THE KIWI.

Erik Murray Olympics

Defending Olympic champion Eric Murray is back to compete at his fourth Olympic Games and defend his 2012 Olympic title, having won gold in in the coxless pair with crewmate Hamish Bond at the London Olympics. Eric and Hamish will enter the 2016 Rio Olympic Games unbeaten with their most recent victory being at the 2015 World Rowing Championships where they won their sixth consecutive world title in the men's coxless pair.
Eric and Hamish also hold the world best time in the event of 6:08.50 which they set at 2012 London Olympics. Eric started rowing at Mercer Rowing Club and now rows for Waikato. Eric lives in Cambridge with his wife Jackie and 3 year old son Zac.
Eric Murray and Hamish Bond have formed one of the greatest combinations in rowing history. In fact, their five-year unbeaten streak from 2009-13, encompassing four world titles and an Olympic gold medal, bears comparison with the legends of any sport
Murray, the older and bigger of the pair, was born in Hastings in 1982, but grew up in the Bombay Hills, south of Auckland, attending Pukekohe High School.

He initially favoured rugby, and gained an introduction to rowing as a means of training for rugby. Pukekohe High had a strong rowing squad and soon Murray showed unusual ability in the sport.

My Journey to Christchurch.

My Journey to Christchurch.

In the holidays I went to Christchurch to visit my grandparents. My family went down with me to Christchurch as well. We went on Wednesday the first week of holidays and came back next Wednesday. My uncle was also there and my aunty, my uncle took us to chipmunks with my little nephew. We went by plane and payed all our tickets on Air New Zealand. My aunty and my older sister who stays in Christchurch and took us to our papa’s house.

We brung fish for our family but I didn’t eat it because I’m not a big fan of fish. We live in the canterbury area where the main church that was taken down by the earthquake. My family was in the big 2011 earthquake when our chimney broke down. We had a big lunch when we got home and played on the my uncles ps4 which was fun. We had played cod and other games and went on the trampoline.

On saturday we had to perform this really massive siva, which was great. It was so special because it was my papa’s church 50th anniversary. Me and my uncle had to go shirtless and dance in our lavalava. We had a really massive lunch like chop suey, taro, chicken, sweet and sour, kfc chicken and more.

I really enjoyed going to Christchurch because my nana is doing really well because she has diabetes and my papa’s doing really well as well. He is keeping his fit under control going for a jog every morning. My uncle is doing well working for the EQC and the State and he is the one who pays his bills on time and pays for the power. I would really love to go and stay in Christchurch because I was born there playing NRL for my club winning every game.

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time there were 6 students who were good and special to one another. Mubs was 14 and worked at Dominos and got paid every fortnight about $250.25c, He was buddies with Tj and was 15 and also worked at the same place. James & Josh were 15 and were really strict had jobs at Rebel Sport and were best buddies since they were in primary.

They all went to Rowley Avenue High School and graduated when they were 17, but before they graduated all their grandfathers knew each other and left notes to their grandchilds. The note said find the codes in the high school you are attending and find the box of wishes. They broke into the school one day and were looking for the codes but they didn’t know that animal ghost people owned the school at night and neither did the teachers.

We were split into two groups so I went with Josh and Tj went with Mubs. Tj said “Come on Mubs we need to find the codes as soon as possible” but when he looked back Mubs was gone so he started looking everywhere. He ran to find James & Josh to tell them the bad news, he found him and said “Mubs is gone and I think this place is haunted”. Josh and James were thinking he was crazy “thats ridiculous there's no such things as ahhhhhh” Josh was taken by a hawk ghost and the other two ran away scared of the ghost .

They were both trapped against the doors locked and could not open so they ran to the other door which turned into a brick wall. The both of them tried to push against it, but suddenly Tj pushed one of the bricks and found a paper of codes.”This must be the codes our grandparents were talking about” said James, “yes and maybe if we find the box we can wish for Mubs and Josh back and also for the ghost to go away and never harm us.

“It must be close because we found the codes and maybe if we keep pushing these bricks it might open and find the box of wishes”. “Yes you're right James let’s start pushing all these bricks”, so they started pushing and pushing and Tj pushed another brick which he hasn’t pushed and it was the one. It opened and it was dusty so they both ran to it and put the codes in for the wishing box 2 9 8 7 5 3 and it worked.

James quickly wished “I wish for Mubs and Josh back and to also take these ghost away and exterminate them for life”. So suddenly Josh and Mubs were back and safe and sound with no injuries “thanks so much James and Tj for saving our lives” said Josh. So all of them lived happily ever after. They didn’t know that the notes from their grandparents were folded saying WATCH OUT FOR GHOSTS.

I Luminate

I Luminate had come to Pt England School for a wonderful performance. They had performed in PES (Pt England School) hall on Tuesday the 10th of may. They were invited from a very special guest from last term who thought we were amazing, so she had asked I Luminate to come and perform.

Their costumes were really interesting with the lights and technology used and movements. They must have been sweating so bad with all the heat and extra layers of light. Their masks were cool and it kinda looked liked the power rangers.

They had a lot of music and remix that they had danced to like the whip and nae nae and happy and more. There was a lot of speed moving around and actions. The leader was cool because he jumped high off the stage and done two backflips.

Overall I just really liked the performance and costumes and everything and especially their passion.
