Polyfest Part 2

Polyfest......

On Friday the 20th of march, Pt England Team 5 went to polyfest and had so many cool things. A couple of hours later we got slit into our groups and I was in Lorenzo’s group. We were travelling around polyfest and we found this place that if you win this park the car game you get a treat.

Later on Me and Tevita won 3 times so we gave two away and kept one for ourselves. After that we went walking around and I won this pretty cool fire man t-shirt from the fire department. We also got these pasifika proud bands and punja crackers.

Later on we went to the opposite side of where we were and we only got to watch half of Avondale High School perform. So after that we were walking back and we saw Tyson and Mr wiseman looking for us. Then Tyson said “you’s were supposed to come at quarter to 2.00, so our leader said “oh I thought it was quarter past 2.00.

So we ran to where all the others were and we were so embarrassed.  We had sore legs waiting for the bus and we were frying like sausages, so finally the bus came and we got inside and we sat down and relaxed.

Polyfest

Polyfest,

Yesterday the 19th of March we went to the polyfest and we had so much fun. We won a lot of bands and we got a goody bag with glasses, caps, sunscreen, and a lollipop. It was so awesome that we even got a photo from the Flava and I went into the draw for a bike.

After that we heard that there was a dancing competition on the Niue group stage, but it wasn't the real Niue groups. I can only remember the name Sarah,  Rotorua, and St Carths.

The interesting thing I found was that we had fun and Mr Burt can trust us if we are allowed to go to different places for our school trip.

Polyfest

                                           Polyfest......

Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, fakaalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!!  It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific.  This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!  Part of the celebration is the Polyfest!  This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages.  The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.  Did you know that this event - the Polyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning?  Awesome isn't it!

Young people and family’s love to dance at competitions and the Polyfest. Man I wish I was a good dancer to join the Samoan stage and be a professional sports player. People love to participate in the Polyfest for their schools, and families but for themselves to.

These are what dancers had to do before they joined the Polyfest they had to have good behavior, good dancers, they had to learn, and they had to practice and practice and practice. People who have never made a mistake has never tried something new because everybody tries.

Our cultural groups promote to get in higher ranks to win all there dancing groups and competitions. They would get higher levels and if they think that's the level they should stop that’s a good position for young and old.
