De-construct/Re-crafting

When George was sitting on the dock, it felt like something was tugging on the fishing rod. His hands were sore and it started looking rash, so he tried pulling it up but it felt like he was being pulled in like a octopus’s tentacles dragging you in the water. George didn't know what to do. So then George tried yelling for help. Later on about 3-4 minutes later George saw something far away in the ocean, it was as small as an ant. It came closer and closer. As soon as he saw two people canoeing he started to vociferate to get the canoes attention. They both looked around as slow as a tortoise until they spotted him. The both of them canoed fast towards him. The next thing you notice is strangers extracting George from the water. George couldn't thank them enough.

Back To School

I have the most all right teacher named Mr Wiseman, he is a nice teacher who is 33 and teaches room 1. We had started maths yeasterday and ruling our maths books because some people did not know how to rule their books up. After that we went on mathwizz which is a fun maths learning tool on the internet and helps us with shapes and more.

The next day we started doing hit the button and more maths games like the catch maths. This is a game of 3 or more players, the first person gives a number and then throws it to the person on the left, then they say a number. You could play with any equation so then the second person throws it to the third person and he/she has to figure out what it equals.

What I am looking forward to this year is my new class mates and my old teacher. I am also looking forward to fiafia and sports events, I cant wait to see new teachers around the school. I have found the past two weeks of school magnificent because most people are kind to me. I am nervous of speaking with new students in the class and I am trying to get used to speaking clear infront of the class.

Now today we will stay in our home class and do our work for example what I wrote today. I have had a great start at school in 2016 and love to hear from others. I just hope every one else will learn their maths and have great year in 2016.

Maasai Tribe

In Room 4 at Pt England I have been learning about the Maasai people. I've learnt that they live in between Kenya and Tanzania. Me and my buddy's Maroroa and Isaiah wrote about How they live by Maroroa, how they eat by Isaiah and the clothing by me. So thanks to the teacher Ms Hockly for teaching about them.

Merry Christmas

This year I am looking forward to Christmas because I get to spend my holiday with my grandparents. I can not wait until I see them and see what I get this year. 3 years ago I got heaps of presents, but my favourite was the remote control car from uncle. This whole year I've only met them once which was last holiday and it was quite boring.

I hope I can decorate the tree and get some present for my other family in the house. I feel so sad because my mum can't be there on Christmas because she is going to Samoa. The other boring thing is I don't even get to be there for her birthday which is 5 days before Christmas.

I just wish my mother could skip Samoa and come to Christchurch but it's her choice. I just wish everyone a happy Christmas with your family's.

The Warehouse

This Morning on Wednesday the 2nd of December we had the Warehouse to come and visit us at Pt England School. We saw them sitting down and we greeted them with a mihi and a wonderful waiata. Next they came to the front and talked about our community and the variety.

They helped us out with the year 8 Leader ship camp and donated $2000 for the camp, the buses were about $250 each so we were really thankful for them to come along. They had a surprise for us which was the plastic bag thing and we made $1,094.46 which was awesome. They had another surprise for Mr Burt which he didn't know, the warehouse entered the community hero but they didn't get the big award. They did win a different award which Mr Burt won and had a $500 gift card.

Later on we had a speech from Josephine to thank the warehouse for every thing they have done for us at Pt England School. So we ended with a big thank you waiata for them.
